Welcome back CUT enjoyers, did you miss our cinema trips as much as we did…? 

If so – no need to wait much longer! This Friday, on the 28th of March, the movie Gummo will take us on a journey to Xenia, Ohio – “a town you’d never want to call home”… Rejecting the three act narrative and conventional aesthetics, this eccentric cult classic tells a story of a community suffering from the aftermaths of tornado disaster, their daily life rich in oddity, obscurity, yet almost tangible authenticity. The movie comments on the suburbian life in America that suffers from the public neglegance, with its mosaic narrative painting a fascinating picture of lives that we fail to notice. And all of this in the beautiful venue of De Uitkijk – the first avant-garde cinema theatre in the Netherlands, dating back to the 1920s!
