Ultra Punk marks a return to the roots — both of Dormsessions and of Amsterdam’s punk spirit. ULTRA was a post-punk and art-punk movement that emerged in Amsterdam in the 1980s, celebrating free expression, DIY culture, and raw creativity. Closely tied to the squatting movement of the era, ULTRA shows took place in abandoned buildings, with makeshift stages and improvised sound systems.

Dormsessions began in a similar spirit: throwing gigs in student common rooms to share the joy of live music (and a good mosh) with everyone. Now, we’re bringing that energy to Garage Noord, celebrating Dormsessions’ beginnings and paying tribute to an unforgettable era of Dutch punk.
